The problem
The policies, procedures, and forms used by the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan vary significantly from one court office to the next. With 13 different court offices serving 60 circuit points, it is often not clear how appear remotely, what forms are required to be filed, or how set a trial.
This is particularly so because almost none of the policies, procedures, or forms are publicly available. They are generally distributed by email to local counsel who appear most frequently in that particular jurisdiction. The result is that non-local counsel are often left in the dark.
Our solution
SK LAW is a project that attempts to address this issue. We collect and publish information and forms required by counsel to appear at most court points in Saskatchewan.
In order to access this information, you must create an account. The email used must be the same email listed on the publicly-available lawyer directory of your province’s Law Society registry or the same email listed on your firm website. This is to specifically address what we anticipate to be a concern of the Court regarding conference call numbers and passwords, along with WebEx call-in details, being shared with the general public.
We welcome all comments, suggestions, and contributions from counsel across the province. All communication can be sent in confidence to info@sklaw.ca.
